Highway to Hell Free Demo Play

Highway to Hell is an online slot from Nolimit City that is all about skeletons on cool motorcycles. The theme is somewhat reminiscent of Ghost Rider from Marvel. Instead of a devilish Mephisto, you get to deal with a symbol-sucking demon. So not the Devil himself like in Devil’s Crossroad.

Highway to Hell - Slot Review

In Highway to Hell, Nolimit City again processes a whole lot of xMechanics. Namely xBet, xGod, xSplit, xWays and xNudge. They also add Enhancer Cells and a new AvaSplit effect. In short, the gameplay becomes nice and chaotic again.

However, for once it is only a high volatile slot, no extremely or insanely high volatility. The RTP remains just above average at 96.03%. How Highway to Hell comes out of the test, you can read in this online slot review.

How do you play Highway to Hell?

In Highway to Hell you seem to get a regular playing field of 6 reels and 4 rows. However, you see that the bottom symbols of the middle four reels are locked away. These are the Enhancer Cells that we will talk about in a moment. In the 4-3-3-3-3-4 field you have at least 1,296 Ways to Win.

A spin costs you $0.20 to $100 each depending on your preference. By clicking the spin button all reels are filled with 3 or 4 symbols. These can be the skeleton riders that give you 1 to 2 times the bet for six-of-a-kind.

In addition, you have symbols with low payouts, such as a devil’s head, burning skull, 13 of spades, burning ace of clubs and burning dice. These give you 0.30 to 0.60 times your bet when you get six.

PROs & CONs of Highway to Hell

PROs

  • No extreme volatility
  • New features
  • Bonus game drops often
  • High maximum win

CONs

  • Chaotic gameplay for new players

Combinations, AvaSplit and Enhancer Cells

Every time you can make a combination, you will see the symbols used explode. After this, random other symbols are selected to be split with AvaSplit for an extra Win Way per split.

After that, new symbols fall into the field and the leftmost Enhancer Cell opens. This always shows a skeleton or special symbol, never one of the low paying symbols. And when you use it, it disappears but no new symbol falls in from the playing field. Instead, it closes the doors for a moment, spins on its own as a mini slot and then opens again.

Highway to Hell Bonus Features

By now you can see that Highway to Hell is not an ordinary slot machine. But what did you expect from Nolimit City? Ready for a clear explanation of all the special symbols and bonus features?

Wild, xNudge and xSplit

To start with, you have the (Brn to be) Wild, a diamond-shaped traffic sign. This replaces all paying symbols, as you are used to from a Wild.

Next up is an xNudge Wild that doesn’t appear as often as we’d like. This time it only fills 1 box so it will always have to expand over the entire reel. That gives you a +1 Multiplier for every extra field it takes over.

Finally, we also add xSplit to the list of Wild symbols. This will double the number of Win Ways of all other symbols on the reel – including the Enhancer Cell and Hellevator Booster. After that, it changes into a Wild itself.

xWays and Demon

If you’ve ever played a Nolimit City slot, chances are you’re familiar with this mechanism. It’s a symbol that doesn’t count for 1 Win Way, but immediately gives 2 to 4 symbols for the same number of Win Ways.

Another symbol that will count for multiple is the Demon. If you see its red head in the field, it will open its mouth after a potential winning combination. It will suck a random number of single symbols from your field. This gives him the same number of Win Ways, after which he changes into a random paying symbol.

If you didn’t have a combination, the Demon also counts to start an Avalanche and thus open an Enhancer Cell.

Hell Spins

You don’t like the sound of a police siren. But for the drivers of Highway to Hell, that’s no problem at all. If you pass three traffic light Bonus Scatters with a green corna (the devil’s hand symbol), you win 8 Hell Spins. If there are also yellow Super Scatters in between where the red middle finger is also lit, you get extra benefits.

You get a Hellevator Booster for each Super Scatter. This is an elevator straight from hell and therefore only shows skeletons or special symbols. After use, the doors close and you get a new symbol, just like with the Enhancer Cells.

The Booster remains Sticky for the entire round and also collected Win Way Multipliers remain stuck. These are those of xWays, AvaSplit, Demon and xSplit. Only the xNudge Multiplier must be returned after use.

To the right of the playing field you will see a traffic light. An orange light will light up for each Bonus symbol turned. With three lights you will receive 2 extra spins and a new Hellevator Booster from your next spin.

At the end of the bonus round you can get the chance to buy an Extra Spin. That is if the calculated prize is less than your winnings. In this case you keep the Hellevators and the associated multipliers. If you stop, you will see how many spins you actually played. As well as the number of Hellevators you managed to collect and what their Multiplier was.

Nolimit Booster and Bonus

You can increase your chance of big wins in the Highway to Hell slot with the Feature Buy function. It costs you 2.4 times the bet to activate xBet, which means that a Bonus Scatter will definitely appear on the first reel.

For the first time, Nolimit City also provides a Bonus Hunt, which costs you 15 times the bet. You will then see a playing field full of gray symbols. Only the regular and Super Bonus Scatters have color and you hope to collect three of them.

Highway to Hell

Join a gang of skeleton bikers as they set out to break the law in Nolimit City’s Highway to Hell.

With Nolimit Bonus you buy the four variations of the bonus game:

  • 60 times your bet for 3 regular Scatters
  • 100 times your bet for 2 regular and 1 Super Scatter
  • 180 times your bet for 1 regular and 2 Super Scatters
  • 350 times your bet for 3 Super Scatters

You can also gamble with the Lucky Draw. You always have a 30% chance of a bonus game with 0 or 2 Super Scatters and a 20% chance of spinning 1 or 3 Super Scatters.

Finally, there is the God Mode for 3,800 times your bet that plays a bit differently than the normal xGod feature. You get a regular spin and behind the Enhancer Cells a Max Win symbol can be hidden for which you win ‘License and Registration Pls…’ for 20,066 times your bet. So you have to make at least 1 combination first and probably several.

Our opinion of the Highway to Hell Slot

Nolimit City continues to amaze us. To start with, with Highway to Hell they give another slot that is only highly volatile. In addition, they have a new feature AvaSplit that fits neatly within their offer, yet it does not get an xMechanic name.

Highway to Hell has a very varied gameplay. But for new players it comes across as chaotic for a long time. The slot is also overflowing with extra features. The theme makes the slot more accessible to more players. They do not make excessive use of dark humor that many can be bothered by.
