Wild One

The theme is an illustrated car and machinery yard with strange characters living there. While we’ve been hoping to see a new kind of theme, this is indeed it, although we have no idea how to put it into words better.

Whatever you might come across in the yard of this junkyard, features include a comprehensive selection of wilds and special and free spins features. We’ll cover these and more in the following sections.

Details about Wild 1

Wild 1 is a six reel wide, four row high video slot with 4,096 left-to-right paylines. Winning combinations require three to six matching winning patterns and/or wilds.

In the paytable, we see a deck of four suits, yellow clubs and five planes/figures, with the main winning pattern having a line value of 3 x bet on six reels. Among the special patterns, the wilds are skulls decorated with corresponding text, while the yellow and black symbols warning of radiation are scatter symbols.

The maximum win on Wild 1 is 10 000 x bet. The payout percentage is capped at 96%.

Features

With a title like Wild 1, you naturally expect the necessary wild symbols. And you get those via the Wild Reel feature. In addition, Wild 1 also has a Cascades feature, a Bomb feature and a free spins round.

Cascades feature

The Cascades feature comes into action with every winning combination. The feature removes all winning symbols from the playing field, making room for new symbols. These new symbols can also create new winning combinations. In Wild 1 it is important to note that the symbols from the Wild Reel at the top of the screen are the first to fall down. This means that they will appear between the other symbols in the gaming area.

Bomb feature

If at the end of the Cascades feature there are 2 scatters on the gaming field, then the Bomb feature activates. The bombs explode on the scatters and remove a block of 3 by 3 symbols. This ensures that the Cascades feature can continue again. When you have activated the Bomb feature twice, you move up a level for the Wild Reel feature.

Wild Reel feature

The Wild Reel is where the wild symbols land. Which wild symbols land depends on the level you have cleared with the Bomb feature.

• In level 0 only regular wild symbols and empty spaces land.
• At level 1, regular wild symbols, multiplier wild symbols and empty spaces land.
• At level 2, regular wild symbols, Multiplier wild symbols, Unbreakable wild symbols and blanks land.
• At level 3, regular wild symbols, Multiplier wild symbols, Unbreakable wild symbols, Expanding wild symbols and blanks land.

The wild symbols can all substitute for any regular symbol. In this way, any wild symbol can help form winning combinations. But in addition, the special types of wild symbols all have their own function as well.

Multiplier wild symbols have a value of x1 to x10. If they are part of a win, it is multiplied by the value of the wild symbol.
Unbreakable wild symbols remain on the playing field until the Cascades feature stops.
Expanding wild symbols expand until they cover the entire reel.

Bonus symbols fall from the wild reel during the bonus round to help get more winnings.

Wild 1 free spins

If you land 3 or more scatters on the Wild 1 playfield, you get access to the free spins round. For 3 scatters you get 10 free spins and for each additional scatter you get 1 more free spin. The free spins round works in Wild 1 almost the same as the base game.

The only difference is that the Wild Reel is now Superpowered, which means that more wild symbols land on it than during the base game. You can also reactivate the free spins. With 1 scatter on the playfield you get 1 extra spin and with 3 or more scatters you get another 10 free spins. If you land 2 scatters, you activate the Bomb feature.

Overall

As such, Wild 1 has a nice balance between the base game and the free spins feature – or at least, it tries to kill the boredom of the base game with wilds. The better levels are sort of the “minimum requirement” to get excited about the base game and the wilds that go with it, but they’re by no means hard to collect.
