First off: the basics. The Walking Dead: Cash Collect operates using a 5×3 scheme. In layman’s terms, it means that the game grid consists of 5 reels spinning vertically and 3 rows moving horizontally. The game has, in total, 30 paylines. Contrary to what you might expect from a slot with such an intense theme is the volatility, which in this case is set at medium. Consequently, the RTP is estimated to be around 95,72%, which is actually rather good when it comes to return-to-player statistics.
The minimum bet one can place is set at €0.10 while the maximum is limited to €450. The Walking Dead: Cash Collect has a max payout of x1000 the size of the bet.
Symbols
It wouldn’t be a slot review without at least mentioning the symbols. Like many other games, The Walking Dead: Cash Collect has also separated its symbols into two main categories: Low and High-values.
The Low-value symbols serve mainly as a balancing function in the game. In order for you to win, you have to land a combination of at least 3 Low-value symbols, starting from the leftmost side of the game grid. The Low-values include the J, Q, K and A. Landing a Low-value five-of-a-kind will award you with 45x the size of the bet. We have to note that while they are considered Low-value symbols, they still pay rather handsomely.
Moving on, let’s talk about the High-value symbols. In The Walking Dead: Cash Collect they are some of our favourite characters from the TV show itself – Rosita, Negan, Daryl, Michonne and Carol. Pay close attention to those, as landing a High-value five-of-a-kind will award you with anywhere from 75x to 180x the amount of your initial bet. Now, that’s what we call a reward to die for.
We can’t have a zombie apocalypse without actual zombies, can we? For this reason, The Walking Dead: Cash Collect has its Wild symbols designed like authentic zombies looking like they’ve crawled out of a nightmare. And, of course, you know the deal with Wilds – they can act as a substitute for all pay symbols with the exception of any special ones.
Cash Collect Symbols
The Walking Dead: Cash Collect has a Cash Collect Feature, as the name suggests, but before we move to explain what that one does, we’ll first have to fill you in on the symbols with which the feature operates. After all, you can’t shoot a pistol without ammo, and you also can’t trigger a feature without landing some very specific symbols.
The Cash Collect Symbols can be encountered in 3 variations: Blue, Red and Green. They, however, can only be spotted on reel 5 in the base game and on all reels during the Free Games Feature. When you land a Cash Collect Symbol on reel 5 during the base game, all Coin Symbols – Cash Prize, Diamond and Free Games – will be collected.
The Coin Symbols, as hinted above, are three variations, all serving a different purpose. They are the Cash Prize, the Diamond and the Free Games symbol.
The Cash Prize symbol can be easily distinguished as it’s the one that has cash value displayed on it. Keep in mind that the Cash Prizes will always correspond to your total bet. The Cash Prize symbols contain values of x1, x2, x3, x5, x10, x15, multiplied by total bet.
The Free Games symbol is the one that has a + along with a number etched in its centre. Examples can be +2, +3, +4, etc. The Free Games symbols contain values of +3, +4, +5, +7 and +10.
Last, but certainly not least, the third Coin Symbol is the Diamond. This one, too, can hardly be mistaken for anything else, as, well, it’s in the shape of a diamond. The Diamond Symbols is also, like the others, capable of awarding you different prizes, in accordance with The Walking Dead: Cash Collect’s paytable.
Cash Collect Feature
Now that you’re well-versed in the art of Coin Symbols, you’ll have a much easier time grasping the concept of the Cash Collect Feature. The Cash Collect Feature will be triggered by simultaneously landing any Cash Collect Symbol on reel 5 in the base game, or on reels 1 to 5 during the Free Games, and a Coin Symbol anywhere on the reels. Keep in mind that both the Cash Collect Symbols and the Coin Symbol have to be landed during the same spin for the feature to be activated. Upon initiation of another spin, all Coin Symbols will be reset.
Free Games Feature
When a Cash Collect Symbol lands on reel 5 and 1 or more Free Game Coin Symbols land anywhere on the reels during the base game, one of three Free Games features will be triggered:
The Safe Zone Free Games feature will be activated by the Blue Cash Collect Symbol.
The Commonwealth Free Games feature will begin when a Green Cash Collect symbol lands.
The Danger Zone Free Games feature will be triggered by the landing of a Red Cash Collect Symbol.
The number of Free Games you’ll be awarded depends on what’s actually depicted on the Coin Symbol that lands. If more than one Coin Symbols land on the reels the total number of Free Games won is equal to the sum of all numbers on each Free Games Coin Symbol. Be aware of the fact that new Cash Collect symbols cannot land in a position where there’s already a Cash Symbol.
During the Free Games, a Cash Collect Symbol will collect all Cash Prize, Diamond and/or Free Games symbols, awarding you the respective value of each one. Free Games can be retriggered by simultaneously landing a Cash Collect™ and a Free Games coin symbol anywhere on the reels.
Safe Zone Free Games
When the Safe Zone Free Games feature is active, the Blue Cash Collect symbols can appear on any reel and will lock on the reels for 3 spins every time it lands. Note that each Blue Cash Collect symbol has its own counter for the 3 spins lock duration. In other words, if there are multiple Blue Cash Collect symbols, they will remain locked for as long as at least one of the counters has still not expired.
At the end of the feature, you can return to the base game.
Commonwealth Free Games Feature
As we already mentioned, to trigger the Commonwealth Free Games Feature, you’ll need to land a Green Cash Collect symbol. This one, however, works a bit differently from its Blue counterpart. Whenever the Green Cash Collect symbol lands, it will be locked on the reels and will shift with one position to the left for each spin until it can exit the reels.
There can be more than one Green Cash Collect symbol at a time, much like the Blue ones. The Commonwealth feature will end when there are no longer any Green Cash Collect symbols on the reels, and you’ll be allowed to return to the base game.
Danger Zone Free Games
Now, we’re really in the depths of the zombie apocalypse. The Red Cash Collect symbol we mentioned earlier is capable of triggering the Danger Zone Free Games feature. The Red Cash symbol will move 1 position down each spin until it exits the reel.
While the Danger Zone Free Games feature is active, Multiplier symbols can land on any reel and multiply all prizes, and extra Free Games won from the Coin symbols. Note that Multipliers are additive, meaning that if you land two x3 Multipliers, the total Multiplier for the spin will be x6. You can encounter x2 and x3 Multipliers.
Cash Collect Prizes
Landing a Cash Collect Symbol and a Diamond Coin Symbol at the same time will trigger a Cash Collect Prize. You can win one of four different prizes: Mini, Minor, Major and Grand.
Each prize has a predefined amount, based on the size of your bet for the round. The type of award you’ll receive is chosen at random. You can win each prize more than once if there is more than 1 Cash Collect locked on the reels during Free Games. Be on the lookout for Diamond symbols, as more than one can land on the same spin. Keep in mind, however, that you can collect each prize up to 3 times.
Nudge Feature
The Walking Dead: Cash Collect has one more surprise in store for you – the Nudge Feature!
As the name suggests, nudging is involved, or more precisely, the reels will nudge a Cash Collect symbol on reel 5 on any near miss. Note that the Nudge feature can be triggered only on reel 5 during the base game.
