Devil's Trap

Everything related to Halloween comes along. Think pumpkins, spiders (webs), witches’ hats and skeletons. Some friendly-looking ghosts also wander around in the background. The whole design of Devil’s Trap is drawn in a colorful and cheerful way, making it absolutely not scary. Stakelogic did manage to translate the atmosphere of the children’s festival into a pleasant design.

The soundtrack is a bit like the roller coaster, though. The tune is uninspiring and played in a loop. In terms of feeling, it is a bit comparable to aimlessly riding the same lap constantly. Although that lap of the roller coaster is probably a lot more exciting than the soundtrack.

Win a multiplier of up to 100x with the bonus reel.

The RTP of Devil’s Trap is 96.26%, although that percentage may be lower depending on which casino you play in. The minimum bet is $0.20, and the maximum bet is $100 per spin. The playing area of Devil’s Trap has 5 reels, each consisting of 3 symbols. The variance is high, and you can win up to 10,000 times your bet.

So we can say that Devil’s Trap has average statistics.

Features

Perhaps the most important symbol in Devil’s Trap is the witch’s hat symbol. Indeed, to trigger a feature, you need to spin 3 witch symbols on the playing field. Namely, that can trigger a cash prize, a respin with extra wilds or the free spins feature. During those free spins feature, nudging wilds play an important role.

Witch hat symbols

The witch’s hat symbol only appears on reels 3, 4 and 5. Anyone who spins a witch’s hat symbol on each of the 3 reels at the same time will see a bonus reel appear on the left side of the playing area. This bonus reel spins once, yielding 1 of the following 3 prizes:

• A cash prize of a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 200 times your bet.
• A respin, in which a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 10 normal wilds are added to the playfield.
• 10, 15 or 20 free spins.

Devil’s Trap free spins

Free spins can only be earned in Devil’s Trap via the bonus reel. So that once again indicates the importance of witch hat symbols. Even during the free spins feature, witch hat symbols can simply land on the playing field. So you can still earn a cash prize, a respin with extra wilds or (extra) free spins.

During the free spins feature of Devil’s Trap, an additional 6th reel is added to the right side of the playfield. This reel exclusively lands multipliers, which are applied to the total winnings of the active spin. These win multipliers have a value of minimum x2 and maximum x100.

In addition, it is important to note that wilds land in stacks of 2 or 3 during the free spins feature. It may happen that these stacked wilds only partially land on the playing field. In any case, if a wild can be seen on the top row or the top 2 rows, there is a chance that it will push other symbols off the reel. That way, the stacked wild then comes into full view.

What do we think?

Every year slots with a holiday theme are very popular. In September and October, Halloween slot machines are hard to come by, after which they are hardly played for 10 months. If you are looking for an entertaining and not too complicated Halloween slot game, we would definitely recommend Devil’s Trap. It is a game that plays nice and fast, in which nice prizes can be won and that manages to approach the Halloween atmosphere well.
