One of the notable differences between Contact and the majority of other slots is the absence of paylines. Contact has winning clusters and every winning cluster is comprised of at least 5 symbols. When you multiply the symbol value by the number of symbols that form your winning cluster, you will get your total win amount.
In the other slots, utilising a cascading mechanics, the winning clusters usually disappear from the grid and they are replaced by new symbols. In Contact, things are slightly different. The winning clusters are not removed. Instead, the losing symbols are removed and the winning clusters move to the bottom of the grid. Then, new symbols are added and you have the chance to form new winning clusters.
If you cover the 2nd, 4th, or the 6th row with winning clusters, multipliers also come into play.
The symbols you will land during your gameplay include jaguars, monkeys, turtles, snakes, and birds, as well as Aztec face masks with the purple one being the highest paying among them. Land 5 purple masks across a payline and you win 7.5 times your stake.
Bonus Round
To trigger the Bonus Round you need to fill all rows with winning clusters. When the bonus round starts, you are awarded 3 free spins. If you cover rows 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 with winning symbols, you get a multiplier of x2, x3, x4 or x5. If you cover the 1st, 4th or 7th row with winning clusters, one of the three features will be randomly activated:
Block destroyer – Increases the multipliers on the left side of the grid by destroying one of the multiplier blocks. The block destroyer modifier can help you multiply your winnings x30
Extra free spins – You get one free spin
Symbol upgrade– one symbol is randomly chosen and upgraded to the next best paying symbol at the paytable
Super Bonus Round
If you fill the entire grid with winning symbols, the super bonus round feature is triggered and you are awarded 6 free spins. If you fill any row with winning symbols, one of the following features is triggered at random:
Block destroyer – Destroys three random multiplier blocks and they are replaced by new ones, featuring higher multipliers
Extra free spins – You get three free spins
Symbol upgrade – Every winning symbol is upgraded to the next best paying symbol. If that’s not possible, you earn 3 extra free spins
Bottom line
This is not the first cluster pays slot Play’n GO releases. Reactoonz and Sweet Alchemy see some decent playtime at the Play’n GO casinos. As for the Contact, in particular, the gameplay feels a bit tedious. It also has quite a high volatility and the Super Bonus Round is not easy to trigger. Still, activating the Bonus Round alone will suffice.
*Contact slot from Play’n Go is still in the works. We will update this review once it goes live.
