Upon seeing Candy Glyph, we actually got déjà vu right away. After all, the title and features of this slot machine did look very familiar to us. It was only when we saw that Quickspin is the developer of Candy Glyph that the penny dropped. Candy Glyph is in fact a clone of their successful Golden Glyph slot machine. Gameplay-wise, the two slots are almost identical, but we’ll tell you more about that in the features section of this review.

Candy Glyph - Slot Review
How does Candy Glyph work?
It should come as no surprise that Candy Glyph is a cluster pays slot machine. In this case, the cluster pays mechanism means that you need 5 adjacent identical symbols to form a winning combination.
In terms of statistics, Candy Glyph is remarkably similar to Golden Glyph. For example, both slots have a maximum payout percentage of 96.19% and a maximum prize equal to 13,000 times the bet.
You can also play in both slots at gambling sites with a minimum bet of $0.20 and a maximum bet of $100 per spin. The only difference in terms of statistics is that the volatility in Candy Glyph has been increased to “high” compared to Golden Glyph, in which the volatility was still best described as “medium.”

Exact copycat of Golden Glyph
A waterfall of candy
Due to the waterfall mechanism, winning symbols are removed from the playing area, then they are replaced by new symbols that fall from top to bottom. Before that happens, however, a power wild is placed on 1 of the empty positions. By playing away power wilds you can earn power-ups, which in turn can eventually lead to the free spins feature.
Power wild
After removing a winning cluster, a power wild is first placed on a random empty position. Only then are new symbols that fall from top to bottom added to the playing area. Power wilds are wilds that you can simply use to create winning combinations. If you manage to remove a power wild from the gaming area in this way, 1 of the power-ups next to the gaming area is activated.
There are 4 different power-ups present in Candy Glyph, but 1 of those 4 can only be activated if you have played away the power wild a 5th time. This 5th power-up then always triggers the free spins feature.
Mexican parties are always extravagant!
Power-up feature
Candy Glyph’s other 3 power-ups should certainly not go unmentioned either, as they can help create winning combinations and therefore make a spin last longer. The longer a spin lasts the better, as the chance of triggering the free spins feature then becomes increasingly greater. Each time you clear a power wild during a spin, a new random power-up is triggered. This then involves 1 of the following 3 power-ups:
Bonbon bomb lands on a random position on the playing field and then removes all high and low pay symbols on the same reel and row. Each removed symbol earns 0.05 times your bet
Lollipop rocket chooses any low pay symbol and removes all units of this symbol type from the playing field. Each removed symbol returns 0.05 times your bet
Bouncy bean places a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 10 wild symbols at random positions on the playing field
Each new spin logically requires you to start again from scratch.
If you manage to make a winning combination for the 5th time with a Power Wild, you get 9 free spins as a reward. By the way, it is also possible to trigger Candy Glyph’s free spins feature again while playing it. In that case, you will get 3 additional free spins.
Before you start playing the 1st free spin, a piñata wild is placed at a random position on the playfield. This piñata wild gets a multiplier of x1 tied to it, which you can increase by +1 each time by including the piñata wild in a winning cluster. The multiplier is then of course applied to the value of that winning cluster.
At all times, the piñata wild will remain present on the playing field while playing Candy Glyph’s free spins feature. Thus, the waterfall mechanism does not affect it. In fact, the multiplier never resets and thus keeps increasing as the free spins feature progresses. However, the piñata wild does move to a new random position every free spin.
