In an email, sent out on Monday, October 16th, the company behind Mansion casino and casino.com informed its partners and affiliates that from October 26, 9:00am, the two brands will be “permanently unavailable to all players”.
The company did not state any reasons for the closure, but defined it as “a difficult decision to make”.
Players have 10 days to withdraw their winnings and unused balance, as from October 27th onwards, they will not be able to access casino.com and Mansion casino.
The updated gambling regulations threw the UK market into turmoil and as a result, in 2022, Mansion closed its flagship sportsbook brand MansionBet.
January 2023 saw the second wave of shutdowns. Mansion Group surrendered its British operating licenses and announced that it is exiting the UK market after 20 years of operation. The company reassured that it would focus on “improving its online casino offerings in Spain, Ontario, and other licensed markets”, but it seems its efforts have not been very successful.
Curious fact is that Casino.com is named as one of the most expensive domains sold ever. The price for it was $5.5 million dollars and it was sold back in 2003.
However, it seems that the Mansion group did not remain indifferent to the crypto gambling trend and the fact that crypto casinos are here to stay. Earlier this month, M88.io, described as a M88.com subsidiary, was introduced.
M88.io offers both casino games and sports betting, and provides players with the chance to make blazing fast deposits and withdrawals via Bitcoin, Tether, Ethereum, Dogecoin, Litecoin, Cardano, Binance Coin, and others.
M88.io casino strives to provide players with fast transaction processing times, increased anonymity, enhanced security, low fees, and generous bonuses. New cryptocurrency options and an array of enhancements are said to be launched in the next few months.
As for the worldwide closure of the casino.com and Mansion casino brands, a Mansion group representative is expected to release more information on the matter throughout the day.
