At first glance, the theme of Zombie Carnival seems quite terrifying. However, the design of Zombie Carnival is more cheerful and funny than scary and creepy.

What we appreciate about the design is that every detail has been paid attention to. The playing field during the basic game is located between the wagons in which the circus artists transport themselves and their acts.

So far, we actually have very little to say about Zombie Carnival. Let’s hope it stays that way. Unfortunately, it’s not a good sign that few features are included with this slot.

Since the design of Zombie Carnival is a present, Pragmatic Play decided to make Mystery symbols appear in the form of presents as well. At the end of a spin, all Mystery symbols on the playing field turn into the same pay symbol.

Zombies, of course, love brains. They love them. That’s why the scatter appears in the form of a bunch of brains. You need 2 scatters to activate the free spins feature of Zombie Carnival. The idea is that these scatters land on reels 2, 3, 4 or 5. In that case you get 6 free spins.

The scatters you triggered the free spins feature with, turn into sticky wilds. This means that they remain on the playing field for the entire free spins feature.

Of course, you can spin new scatters on the playing field during the free spins feature. When that happens, the nearest wild on the playing field moves towards the scatter to eat it. This “eating up” mechanism makes us think immediately of Push Gaming’s Fat Rabbit and Fat series. Here the symbols do not grow, but the corresponding wild multiplier increases by +1 and you receive an additional free spin.

This wild multiplier is applied to any winning combination that the wild is part of. If you manage to include multiple wilds in a single winning combination, then their multipliers are multiplied by each other and then applied to the winning combination.

However, it is important to note that each wild can consume a maximum of 1 scatter per spin. Therefore, if more scatters land on the playing field than there are wilds on the playing field, not all scatters will be eaten. However, the non-consumed scatters will then simply turn into a wild symbol.

In terms of features, it’s very straightforward (in fact, there are only 2), but we don’t mind that in this slot. Especially since you can buy the free spins feature for a relatively low amount, Zombie Carnival never has to be boring for long. However, we would have hoped for a slightly higher maximum prize.
