For all its ice and fierce winds, Ireland still gives some of the most welcoming vibes out there. Similarly, Snowborn Games’ frosted special comes to players, accompanied by a jolly soundtrack and a festive tray of Happy Hour drinks. Try as we might, we can’t capture the charm of Tippy Taverns and its country of origin even in a thousand-page novel, but we assure you that if you venture into its lovely realm, you will seldom be disappointed. So, darling Readers, better stop letting time fly by and make the most of each and every second by diving headfirst into Snowborn Games’ special Tippy Tavern.
Tippy Tavern 101
If you’re going for an Irish night out, you’ll definitely need to do some reading, for neither the country nor its nightlife is for the ill-prepared. Luckily, you have us, your trusty guides, fully committed to your having an unforgettable experience. So, without further ado, let’s jump into the basics of Snowborn Games’ Tippy Tavern.
First off, we’ll start with game mechanics. Tippy Tavern operates with a 5×3 scheme. In simpler terms, that translates into the game grid being made up of 5 reels, spinning vertically and 3 rows moving horizontally. Tippy Tavern has, in total, 20 paylines, which is, more or less, the standard amount for Video Slots.
Players ought to, without a shadow of a doubt, pay close attention to the volatility, which can vary depending on a multitude of factors, including the country you’re playing from. At its lowest, the RTP is estimated at around 86.61%, which is more than unprofitable for players. At its highest, however, Tippy Tavern’s RTP reaches 96.22%, making it very much worth the effort. Overall, when it comes to RTP, our best advice is to keep an eye on it constantly and determine for yourselves whether or not it’s worth the risk.
Another crucial detail about Tippy Tavern you ought to know is that the game’s max payout is 7500x the size of your bet, which, by all accounts, is not at all bad for a Video Slot. It is, however, mostly caused by volatility. Tippy Tavern is a Video Slot with extremely high volatility. If you’re unfamiliar with what volatility represents, it’s basically the relation between risk and reward. In the cases of high volatility games, it means that the possibility for groundbreaking wins is exponentially high. Nevertheless, as the chance for big prizes grows, so does the risk, peaking at an all-time high. On the one hand, if you’re looking for a quick shot of adrenaline, you’ll definitely appreciate the high volatility, however, if you’re seeking a safer game, perhaps Tippy Tavern is not for you.
Lastly, we’ll introduce you to the allowed bets you can place. The minimum bet permitted is €0.20, whereas the maximum is set at €30. All in all, you have plenty of room to manoeuvre and still make quite a handsome profit.
Symbols
Next on our list of get-to-know-Tippy-Tavern agendas are the Symbols. You know, the tiny, seemingly unimportant things that are actually responsible for your winnings. We suggest you pull out a notepad as you’ll likely need to refresh your memory, especially with so many Happy Hours. 😉
The Low-value symbols are the first category we’ll look at. For beginner players out there, Slot games usually have a division of Low and High-value symbols, based on their worth. The Low-value symbols serve, in most cases, a balancing role. They keep the game balanced and make it fair for all players. Tippy Tavern’s Low-values are shaped like bottle caps, coloured in shades of purple, blue, green and red, and engraved with the J, Q, K and A symbols. If you manage to land a Low-value five-of-a-kind, you’ll be awarded 1x to 3.75x the amount of your initial bet. Hopefully, you can see on your own why Low-values are not worth the chase.
Tippy Tavern’s High-value symbols things, fundamental for Irish culture – the Pipe, the Four-leaf clover, the Harp and the Dice. Landing a High-value five-of-a-kind will grant you anywhere from 12x to 20x the amount of your initial bet.
Wild Symbols
In a country as wild and fascinating as Ireland, we felt that it was worth giving the Wild symbols their own spotlight moment.
While you can’t catch a Wild using your good old Pokeballs, you can still encounter them both in the base game and during the Free Spins Feature. Wilds can land on any one of the five reels and serve one of two functions:
- Wilds in Tippy Tavern can, like in most other Video Slots, act as substitutes for all other paying symbols. For instance, if you land 4 High-values and a Wild in a payline, it will count as a High-value five-of–a-kind.
- Marvellously, however, in Tippy Tavern Wild Symbols can create wins of their own, paying up to 111x the size of your wager for a five-of-a-kind.
Multiplier (a.k.a. Free Beer for all 😉 )
One of the special symbols in Tippy Tavern is the Multiplier, which in this case is the Coin Booster Symbol. Its base value is x1, however, it can be increased up to x10. To raise the value of the Coin Booster symbol, you’ll need to land a 1UP Frothing Beer Mug. Anytime you land a mug of foaming goodness, the Coin Booster’s value will increase.
At the end of a round, the Coin Booster’s value is applied to the total value of your Coin Symbols (we wonder what these are ;)) before the final amount is awarded to you. After the wins are paid out, the Coin Booster’s value resets to x1. The Multiplier’s value is retained per bet level and is available in all game modes.
Coin Symbols (and the Pot of Gold)
Remember these Coin Symbols we mentioned? Seeing as you’ve been patient enough to read this far, we feel generous enough to let you in on the secret to amounting riches, bigger than the Leprechaun’s Pot of Gold.
Throughout your playthrough at Tippy Tavern, you will encounter the Coin Symbols. Whenever a Coin Symbol lands, it will be capable of carrying values from 0.2x to 50x the size of your initial bet. During the rounds, you’ll also come face-to-face with the Collect Symbol. Should the stars align and the two specials, a Coin Symbol (or many) and a Collect Symbol, are to land simultaneously on reel five, their total value will be awarded to you.
Free Spins Feature
If you’re a veteran Slot player, a lightbulb will immediately go off in your head at the mention of the Scatters. You know them, you love them and you’ll meet them once again while playing Tippy Tavern!
The Scatter Symbols can appear on reels 1, 3 and 5. Odd creatures, aren’t they? If three Scatters land, the Free Spins Feature will be triggered, awarding you 9 Free Spins. Moreover, the Coin Booster Multiplier will be passed over to the Free Spin Rounds.
To receive additional +3 and +9 Free Spins while the feature is active, you’ll need to land 2 or 3 more Scatters, respectively. Sadly, there is not an actual Pot of Gold, guarded by a Leprechaun during the round, but there is a Respin Pot, in which all Coin Symbols are collected. At the end of the round, players will have the opportunity to get the entire value of the Respin Pot multiplied by the Coin Booster.
Happy Hour Bonus
It wouldn’t be a real tavern without a designated Happy Hour, would it? To start prepping for the Happy Hour, you’ll need to be on a constant lookout for Bonus Symbols. Once you land a Bonus Symbol on each reel over the course of several spins, the Happy Hour Bonus Feature will be triggered, and once again, like with the Free Spins Feature, the current Coin Booster Multiplier will be passed over. In addition, Bonus Symbols can be stored at the bet level.
At the start of the Happy Hour Bonus Feature, you will receive 3 Initial Spins, which will experience a reset every time a new symbol lands. Coin Symbols will stick to the reels as long as the feature is active, but the same will not apply to 1UP Frothing Beer Mugs.
The total value of the Coin Symbols will be multiplied by the Coin Booster and you will be awarded the entire win at the end of the spins. If you happen to have filled all positions, the current round will end, however, all Coin Symbols will automatically transform into 50x Coins and the Coin Booster multiplier will be once again applied.
Bottom Line
We don’t know about you, but the Leprechaun is definitely packing its bags for Tippy Tavern as we speak. While it may not be the shiniest gem out there, its theme is what distinguishes it from the masses. Of course, there are also lovely features, such as the Free Spins and the Happy Hour Bonus, and exquisite high volatility, capable of tempting even the biggest stoics among us. All in all, with a max payout of 7500x, a jolly aesthetic and plenty of excitement on the table, we’re, without a doubt, putting Tippy Tavern on our gaming list. If you’re currently on the lookout for a new Pot of Gold or wish for a Leprechaun companion, wait no longer and visit Tippy Tavern today. If, of course, you can handle the Happy Hour…
