Design-wise, the Scarab Queen is graphically stunning. It is set against the Egyptian pyramids. Palm trees, desert, and the river Nile complement the background.
The low-paying symbols are represented by the standard A to 10 Royals and hieroglyphs. The higher paying symbols include the ankh cross, the cast god Bastet, the eye of Ra, and a scarab beetle with the latter being the best paying among them.
The Queen herself is the wild that appears on reels 2, 3, 4, and 5 and does its standard substitution duties. The scatter is represented by a pyramid.
Free Spins Feature
Land 3 scatters to get 50x your stake and 8 free spins. During the free spins, a reel covered with wilds or sun bonus symbols will go across the reel set thus increasing your winning opportunities. The scatters appear on the reels during the free spins round, so a retrigger is also possible.
Fire Blaze Re-Spin Feature
To trigger the Fire Blaze re-spins, you need to land at least 6 sun bonus symbols on the reels. The sun bonus symbols remain locked in place for the duration of the re-spins feature. The sun symbols bring you either cash prizes or one of the fixed jackpots – Mini, Minor, or Major. The Grand jackpot is triggered when you fill all 15 positions with bonus symbols.
Bottom Line
The Scarab Queen is a pretty simple slot. The theme is overused, but still, the free spins, re-spins, and the presence of four jackpots are not something to pass on so easily. If you are looking for an Egypt-themed slot to keep you on the edge of your seat, we recommend Blueprint’s flagship title Legacy of Ra: Megaways.
Scarab Queen is set to launch in May, 2019. We will update this review once it goes live across all Playtech casinos.
