You play for an RTP of 96.06%, which is about average for online slots. Despite the lowered maximum win, the volatility remains high. So, is this title worth checking out? You can read how Reel Rush XXXtreme fares in this slot review.
The reels of Reel Rush XXXtreme spin against a bright, carefree backdrop, where stylized trees and colorful mushrooms create a retro atmosphere. The reference to the great Super Nintendo classics, with a clear homage to the Super Mario universe, is immediate and deliberate.
The vibrant, shiny symbols almost resemble moving candies, meticulously detailed and designed to capture the eye at every turn. At the top, a clearly visible multiplier accompanies each spin with clarity and immediacy.
The game has also been carefully designed for those who prefer to play the free demo version on mobile: the graphics remain sharp, the controls responsive, and the interface adapts perfectly to smaller screens.
How do you play Reel Rush XXXtreme?
Reel Rush XXXtreme maintains the 5-by-5 playing field with 1-3-5-3-1 as available fields in the starting position. This gives you 45 Ways to Win and allows you to bet from $0.30 to $60.
You try to create combinations of three or more matching symbols, starting on the left and then on adjacent reels. If you succeed, you receive a Respin and two fields open. This continues until there are no more winning combinations or you clear the entire playing field. This second occurrence triggers Free Spins, but more on that later.

Reel Rush XXXtreme Bonus Features
Although the slot looks very simple, especially with its soft theme, a lot can happen. To avoid confusing play sessions, we explain the special features to you.
Wild Symbol
The Wild symbol appears on all reels except the first. As expected, it substitutes for all paying symbols.
Mystery Features
The closed spaces can reveal a star with an R in it, or one of the Mystery features. These are surprises, but with the excitement of an empty Advent calendar.
- x1 gives you an overall Multiplier of +1 from your next win within the same spin.
- W gives you a Wild in that spot during the next Respin.
- A bomb also unlocks the next two spaces.
Besides the regular Mystery features, gold ones also occasionally appear.
- x10 gives you a +10 Multiplier.
- Slot provides a Sticky Wild. A double arrow means your entire reel will be filled with Wilds.
- A Sticky Wild combined with an Expanding Wild makes the entire reel sticky.
Free Spins
By clearing the entire playing field with winning combinations and/or bombs, you trigger 7 Free Spins in Reel Rush XXXtreme. For each bomb that doesn’t do anything, you receive an extra spin. All Wilds and the Multiplier carry over from the base game. Moreover, the Multiplier continues to accumulate until the end of the bonus.
Elevate
The Elevate feature is what makes this the XXXtreme version. Because what’s more extreme than dramatically increasing your bet for a chance at a marginal boost? You pay 3 times your bet to guarantee 1 Golden Mystery feature.
For 25 times your bet, you get a Golden Mystery feature, and all covered fields receive regular Mystery features. At 200 times your bet, all fields are also covered with a Mystery feature, and you also receive 4 Golden Mystery features.
What do we think of the Reel Rush XXXtreme slot?
Reel Rush XXXtreme isn’t exactly innovative. In fact, it feels like someone gave the previous version a fresh coat of polish and slapped “XXXtreme” on it to make it sound exciting. The addition of an Elevate feature isn’t enough to convince us to redeem the Super Free Spins.
It remains a game for players with patience. By starting each spin with just one symbol on the first reel, you don’t often have to count on a win. So you’ll be waiting more often than playing—more passively lurking than actively hunting. Once your chain reaction of Respins starts, unlocking the Free Spins can happen quickly.
There’s nothing wrong with the design and music. They complement each other perfectly to create a lighthearted atmosphere. Unfortunately, that’s the same as so many other slots, such as Sweet Bonanza, Sugar Rush, and so on. So the competition isn’t cutthroat – more like a merry parade of copy-paste cabinets.
