How does Oxygen work?

Making winning combinations is done by spinning a group of 5 identical pay symbols on the playfield. The playing field of Oxygen has dimensions of 6×7, but that doesn’t mean there are 42 symbols to be seen every spin.

Volatility in Oxygen is medium to high and the payout percentage is calculated at a paltry 94.00%. Still, that’s a minor setback. However, the maximum win of 25,000 times the bet largely compensates for the disappointing RTP.

Wilds and multipliers determine the course of the game

Wilds and multipliers are very important in Oxygen. Even more important than in most other online slots. This has everything to do with the fact that there are 3 different wilds present in the game – all three of which also have a unique feature – and the fact that in addition to position multipliers, 3 special multiplier features can be triggered at any time.

Three types of wilds

It’s no secret by now that there are 3 different wilds present in Oxygen. We will briefly list them for you:

• Regular wild: is by far the dullest of the 3. You can simply use it as a wild to create or expand winning combinations. However, the regular wild – like the other wilds by the way – can have dimensions of 2×2, 3×3 or 4×4
• Exploding wild: explodes when involved in a winning combination. The explosion takes place in the form of an X on the playing field. Thus, the symbol not only removes itself from the playing field, but also all pay symbols that are diagonally in line with the exploding wild. New symbols are placed on the resulting empty positions by the waterfall mechanism.
• X-blaster wild: selects a symbol on the playing field and then makes all symbols that lie diagonally in line with the selected symbol turn into other random symbols. However, the x-blaster wild only does this when it is involved in a winning combination.

Position multipliers

On each position where a winning symbol has been present, a bubble is placed in Oxygen. That bubble is a x1 multiplier, which is doubled in value each time the position is involved in a new winning combination. At most, a position multiplier can reach x2,048 as a result.

During the base game, all position multipliers are reset between spins, but during the free spins feature this is not the case.
