The theme is an area on the outskirts of a major city, where a bandit seen on reels roams the streets, museums and houses. Externally, Relax Gaming has created another truly spectacular casino game with all its winning patterns and background animations and landscapes.

When we last wrote about Temple Tumble 2 Dream Drop, things were a little simpler than before, as there is no special feature or jackpot game, for example. As for what’s in this grid, before we get into more details, we’ll mention the new mechanics with Respin and Free Spins.

Details of the Midnight Marauder game

Midnight Marauder is a 6 reel wide and as many rows high grid slot with space for 36 win and/or special patterns. The payout percentage is capped at 96.19%. As it stands, the payback percentage is good, but not one of their best. The maximum win in Midnight Marauder is 30 000 x bet.

Winnings & Paytable

Winning combinations require a minimum group of five identical winning patterns, where the patterns must touch each other on one of the four sides. Winning combinations are also broken, with new patterns filling the empty spaces.

The winning table lists blue, green, purple, yellow, red and light gems. The value of the main winning pattern is 2 x the stake per pattern. The special patterns are scattered with the bandits decorated with bonus text.

Re-Spin

If and when there is a winning combination on the grid, these winning patterns are added together. This is followed by the Respin, which of course allows you to see new winning combinations. Where five symbols were required for winning combinations, only two are required for Respin collections, as long as they are next to the corresponding loot.

For example, if two groups of seven identical patterns are collected from a grid, their respective pattern wins are multiplied by 7×7, making a win multiplier of x49. If, on the other hand, the winning patterns are different, only their individual wins are added to the balance.

Free Spins

Three scatter symbols award eight free spins, and two extra spins for scatter symbols above that. The free spins are almost like the base game, although all scatter symbols pay one free spin. In our test, winning combinations are also now more likely.

Our thoughts

Our demo test started with almost 30 empty rounds, which explains something about the nature of Midnight Marauder, but also about the new mechanics. Winning game rounds are few and far between, but with all its multipliers or accumulated payout patterns, as well as its Respin and free spins features, it’s still an interesting release.
Relax Gaming has all sorts of things going on at the moment with just such new ideas and jackpot games, but for this one if anything you’d hope to see new elements with special features etc, but keeping the same base.
