Looking back at the important statistics of Bomb Bonanza, we are a bit disappointed. While the RTP in itself is fine (although that also depends on the country you’re playing from), the maximum win of 2,000 times the bet is very disappointing.

Hopefully the features can make up for that. If we look at the features, then we notice that Bomb Bonanza has a pretty extensive free spins feature. The base game, however, has little to offer in terms of features. There it is mainly looking out for expanding wild symbols.

Extending wild symbols

In Bomb Bonanza, Bomb symbols function as wilds. A wild symbol is a symbol that acts as a kind of joker. It can take the form of any pay symbol and can therefore complete or expand winning combinations.

In Bomb Bonanza, a Bomb wild can additionally expand. Which wild symbol expands is determined completely at random. When a wild symbol expands, it expands to dimensions of 2×2, 3×3, 4×4 or 5×5. When expanding, the Bomb wild expands in a certain direction (up or down and left or right).

Because of this, it can happen that a wild symbol extends partially outside of the playing area. The part that falls outside the playing field logically does not count towards any combinations.

The only real feature of Bomb Bonanza is the free spins feature.

To activate the free spins feature of this slot, you need to spin a scatter on reels 1, 3 and 5. You will then receive 6 free spins. During the free spins feature of Bomb Bonanza, a few things change compared to the base game.

First of all, the design of the slot changes. Instead of being at the entrance of the mine, the playing field is now located much further into the mine.

• Gold Nugget symbols can now land on the reels. These Nugget symbols are collected for you in the special collection meter. This meter can be seen at the top right of the screen.
• Collected Nugget symbols explode, leaving empty positions on the playing field. New symbols fall from the top to the bottom to fill the empty spaces.

Overall

You cannot say that Bomb Bonanza is a slot machine that is poorly constructed. Still, there are few points where Bomb Bonanza scores exceptionally well.
The RTP of 96.46% can be called positive and the free spins feature is quite entertaining. That’s where the positive points end.
We are mainly disappointed about the maximum win of only 2,000 times the stake, the hackneyed theme (we know that by now) and the fact that the base game has nothing to offer.
